Dr. Melanie Nelson, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, is a clinical child psychologist. She completed her doctoral training at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. Her internship was completed through Wayne State University at the Hawthorn Center in Northville, Michigan. She completed post-doctoral training at the University of Florida in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology, where she specialized in the assessment and treatment of preschoolers with disruptive behavior. Dr. Nelson continues to be interested in the assessment and treatment of young children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Conduct Disorder, with additional clinical and research interests in behavioral assessment of parent-child interactions and dissemination of empirically supported treatments. |
