Interdisciplinary Training Initiative for Underserved Children

THE INTERDISCIPLINARY TRAINING INITIATIVE FOR UNDERSERVED CHILDREN (ITIUC) is a specialized program for graduate students in psychology. The ITIUC is one of 18 graduate psychology programs funded nationally by the Health Resources and Services Administration to increase the number of trained psychologists to work with this special population of children. The program is directed by the Center on Child Abuse and Neglect in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. |

The goal of the ITIUC is to improve the health of abused or traumatized children and adolescents by increasing psychology trainees’ competencies including knowledge, attitudes, and skills to work with underserved children through a discipline-specific and interdisciplinary training program.
